PAID IN FULL Behind-the-Wheel
Service Description
Students enrolled in our Full Driver Education Program will complete three Behind-the-Wheel lessons as part of the required six hours of in-car instruction. Lesson Requirements Lesson 1 Minimum 10 hours of supervised practice completed. Lesson 2 Minimum 40 hours of supervised practice completed and at least two weeks after Lesson 1. Lesson 3 Minimum 60 hours of supervised practice completed and at least two weeks after Lesson 2. Lesson 3 includes the student’s final driving evaluation and expressway driving experience. Students must bring their learner’s permit to every lesson and wear enclosed shoes (no slides, crocs, or flip flops). Additional instruction may be recommended for students who would benefit from extra practice before licensing.
Cancellation Policy
New drivers under 25 are REQUIRED to complete a minimum of 60 practice hours with a supervising driver (parent or driving coach). Practice hours must be logged. We recommend using the Road Ready app. Behind the Wheel is scheduled in tiers: 10-20 hours: Lesson 1 40 hours minimum: Lesson 2 with sufficient practice between lesson 1 & 2 60 hours minimum: Lesson 3/Final Evaluation Students should NOT schedule a behind the wheel lesson without having the appropriate hours AND allowing sufficient practice between lessons--at minimum we recommend 2 weeks if you've already met the minimum practice hours prior to starting behind the wheel. On the day of your lesson: -lessons begin in the parking lot of our school (pickup services are not offered) -no need to come inside; your instructor will meet you at the instructor vehicle -instructor vehicles will be on the fire station side of the building -bring your unexpired learner's permit; this is REQUIRED. Must be the physical copy. No pictures. -wear enclosed shoes (sneakers, flats, etc.) please avoid Crocs, slides, and flip flops -Behind the Lessons DO NOT count towards your 60 hours You may cancel 24+ hours-2 hours before the session without being charged a fee. Cancelling less than 2 hours before your session will result in a $50 cancellation fee. No call, no show= $75 cancellation fee. Fees must be paid before you are able to schedule a new lesson. The driving school fee ($425) covers 30 hours classroom instruction and 3, 2 hour behind the wheel lessons. Lesson 3 is the final evaluation. If the student does not pass with an 80% or better, they may be required to retest for a $100 fee. For this reason, we urge students and their parents/coaches to make sure that consistent, meaningful practice is taking place.
